A Unique Approach
In your Fitness Transform sessions, you will be introduced to a unique approach to fitness. My method is based on the latest scientific research about the human genome and what eons of evolution tell us is best for health and exercise. We now know that by imitating the movement patterns and nutritional habits of early humans, you have the best advantage in accomplishing your fitness goals.
All Fitness Transform sessions begin with an assessment of how you perform the six primal movements: squat, lunge, push, pull, twist and bend. These basic movements are the movement patterns that were evolved over 2.6 million years of genetic expression. In this assessment, we determine the location of any tight muscles, knots, or dense tissue that might cause pain when exerting force. Keeping the muscles pain-free for easy, natural movement is necessary before loading the body with weight during training.
To help you achieve pain-free movement, I use self-myofascial release (SMR). This technique, done with a foam roller, removes muscular adhesions, decreases the tone of tight muscles, and improves range of motion. I also train you in stretching, both passive and active, to lengthen muscles and the surrounding fascia. You are now ready to move well!
The next step is functional strength training, emphasizing full-body movements rather than the isolated muscle movements commonly done on exercise machines. Functional training teaches you how to use your body for everyday fitness, whether you are an athlete, a weight-loss candidate, or someone who wants to stay fit using the best possible technique available. Functional training relies on the six primal movements that best express your genetic inheritance and can be done safely at any age. Practicing these movements teaches you to move well and prepares you to train with the kettlebell, the ultimate functional training tool. This approach is your fastest route to having a lean and muscular body, because it follows your genetic blueprint and takes advantage of what evolution has perfected for healthy survival.

To get started, I offer a free initial screening/consultation that provides an in-depth assessment of specific needs to tailor-make your individual fitness program. This includes a review of your exercise history, as well as a discussion of any injuries, medical conditions, and/or medications that may be relevant. It is also the time that I advise you on setting realistically achievable goals!
Fitness Transform Sessions and Fees
The best gains in fitness come from progressively overloading your body in training done over time. Training once a week is considered maintenance, training twice a week is enough to produce regular changes, and training three sessions per week will give the fastest results. All Fitness Transform sessions last one hour. Fees are: $95/session for one-on-one, $60/session for semi-private, and $45/session for small group training.
